Marie Blampied was born in 1818 in Trinity, Jersey. Her parents were Charles and Marie Blampied.
Pierre and Marie were married in 1837 in St Helier.
Pierre (Peter) was a shoemaker in 1851 and they lived in Trinity. By 1861, he was a seaman; they were in St Helier.
By 1871, he was a baker in St Helier. His father had also changed trade from shoemaker to baker. We now know that it was his mother who had started the bakery - small at first, taking bread around the fishermen's cottages.
He died two years later. It looks like Peter Jr. inherited his father's business (possibly each trade in turn). Peter Jr. was next to the Farmers Inn, which (I believe) is the building now known as the Old Bakehouse Cafe. This building was also still in the family when I visited in the late 1990s. Or it may have been 'Waldeck House', opposite.
The couple had seven children, all but the last in Trinity:
- 54.1.1 - Mary Rachel Le Brun (1837)
- 54.1.2 - John Le Brun (1842)
- 54.1.3 - Jane Susan Le Brun (1843)
- 54.1.4 - Elizabeth Sophie Rachel Le Brun (1846)
- 54.1.5 - Moses Charles Le Brun (1849)
- 54.1.6 - William Charles Le Brun (1851). William died in 1853.
- 54.1.7 - Ann Lydia Le Brun (1860, St Helier)
