John and Sarah Green had three children:

- Thomas a farmer of 68 acres, and a malter in Ardsley nr Barnsley
- No known children
- By 1861, they had retired; they were visiting the Crown Inn, Bridlington
- But had apparently taken up work again in 1871, in Egton nr Scarborough
- Died in the seaside town of Whitby, North Yorkshire (my photos here)

- Married Anne Burkinshaw (1823) in Wortley, Barnsley in 1843

- Lived in Darfield

- A seedsman and gardener in Hoyland in 1871
- Provision dealer (former miller) in Brightside, Sheffield in 1881 and 1891
