Elizabeth Wilson was born in 1808 in Ford nr Shrewsbury, Shropshire. Her parents were John and Anne Wilson.
Richard and Elizabeth were married in 1843 in St Pancras, Middlesex. Richard was a cabinet maker. He had married Sarah Perry two years earlier in St Sepulchre, London but was now a widower.
In 1818 a Richard Barnard was whipped and jailed for ten days at Clerkenwell for larceny (theft).
Richard and Elizabeth had two children:
- 50.2.1 - Mary Ann Barnard (1844)
- 50.2.2 - Betsy Barnard (1845)
Mary Ann somehow contrived to be born in Guernsey. The family were in Stirchley (now in Telford), Shropshire in 1851 and 1861. Richard was the publican/innkeeper at the Rose and Crown. He died in 1868. Elizabeth had died in 1851, so his elder daughter kept house. The pub is still there and still open.
