52.4 Siblings of Eliza Brittain (née Meaden)

David and Eliza Meaden (nee Waddilove) had a daughter:
  • 52.2.1 - Eliza Meaden Meaden (1840)
  • 52.2.2 - Fanny Jane Meaden (1841-1901)
    • Married Henry William Roberts (1845-1918) at All Saints, Hockley in 1868
      • Henry was an accountant - his father was an officer at Winson Green where her father was governor. Henry was born in Newport, so had probably been associated with Sandhurst too. After they were married, they lived in Chestnut Street, Claines, Worcester. My photos of Worcester are here. He was then a clerk in a prison, presumably Worcester County Gaol (1813-1922).

Eliza had also had a daughter by her first husband. She was Eliza's half sister.
  • Eliza Margaret Smith (1834-1834)
    • Died as an infant

David and Betsy Maria (nee Morgan) had ten children. These were Eliza's half-siblings:
    • Betsy Maria Meaden (1847-1892)

      • 1890: Went to New York on the SS Aurania. This ship was requisitioned in 1899 to serve as Boer War Transport
      • 1891: Back in England. 27 Scholefield Street, Duddeston. (Still a Rule Maker)

      • By 1891/1901, he is Rector of Begbroke nr Kidlington Oxfordshire (roughly 5 miles from where our story began in Chapter 1). Unsurprisingly, they live in the (recently extended) Rectory.
